Storm Floods a Basement

After a summer storm dumped heavy rains, causing a sump pump malfunction, this basement in Wheaton, IL was filled with storm water, damaging the walls, trim, and appliances in their basement. After contacting SERVPRO of Wheaton / Glen Ellyn / Lisle, our crew arrived to remove the excess water and begin mitigation of the basement area with drying equipment.  The walls had to be partially or completely removed a few feet above the floors to gain access to the inside of the walls, including the insulation.  This was both to help the drying process and to prevent any further damage from the water that seeped into the wall materials.
