Roof Collapse from a Storm
High winds and heavy rains caused a roof collapse in a loft building. Aside from drying the interior of the building and cleaning up debris, the roof collapse required immediate attention. Before drying equipment, air movers, let alone people could safely work inside, the structure had to be secured. SERVPRO of Wheaton / Glen Ellyn / Lisle arrived on site and began the process of stabilizing the building. The damaged roof was assessed, with temporary beams, roofing and other materials installed to ensure the integrity of the roof. More permanent repairs were made later but the immediate goal was enclosing the roof and building, preventing further damage, as well as beginning drying and cleanup. As the photos show, the roof was secured and metal supports were used in place of the damaged beams.
